How the price works

There is no clinic to pay for. No waiting room, no front desk, no billing department. One small care team per neighborhood, and a vehicle instead of a lease. Most of what you normally pay a doctor's office for is overhead we do not have.

And nobody is billing your insurance. There are no claims to file and no billing staff to pay for, so $79 covers everything your care team does and there is nothing else to collect. We do intend to start billing insurance as soon as we are able, because it puts this care in reach of more people. When that happens, insurance would cover the medical care and membership would cover the part insurance has never paid for: the messaging, the proactive check-ins, the coordination, and a doctor who comes to your door. We will tell members before any of that affects them. Your founding membership rate stays as it is either way.

How we pick the first neighborhood

When a neighborhood reaches 100 sign-ups, we deploy a CarePod there. Everyone at an address counts. Add your ZIP and you are voting for your own street.

Questions

What's included?
Texting, video visits and labs at home carry no charge at the visit and no bill afterwards. Membership includes four CarePod visits a year for you or your household, and any two or more people at one address count as a household.

Extra CarePod visits are cash pay, and a few services sit outside membership: GLP-1s, hormone therapy, advanced labs and IV therapy. You always see the price in writing and give your OK first, so you never get a bill you did not agree to.
What do you treat?
One place for most of what comes up in a year. Family medicine, urgent care, annual physicals, labs at home, prescriptions and refills, specialist referrals, pediatrics, weight loss and GLP-1s, hormones and perimenopause, and nutrition.
Who is my doctor?
A board-certified care team assigned to your neighborhood. Every physician on it is board certified and licensed in California, and at full size each neighborhood has four doctors and four medical assistants. You will see the same small team, working from the same notes, who already know your history.
How does the waitlist work?
When a neighborhood reaches 100 sign-ups, we deploy a CarePod there. Everyone at an address counts, so a household of four counts as four. Joining is free and no card is taken.

Do you take insurance?
Not at this time. Marvelous is cash pay: your membership is what you pay, with no claims, no copays and no surprise bills. We do not bill insurance and we do not issue superbills, so what you pay is what it costs.

Marvelous is not insurance and is not a replacement for it. Keep your insurance for hospital stays, surgery, specialists and emergencies.

We do intend to start billing insurance as soon as we are able, because it puts this care in reach of many more people. Insurance would then cover the medical care, and membership would cover what it does not. You could owe your plan's copay or deductible, as at any other doctor, and we will tell members before that happens. Your founding rate stays as it is.
